I've just found out that someone from the track club received an e-mail from the Nike Women's Marathon/Half Marathon saying that she got in. I'm a little perplexed because notifications were supposed to happen on April 1, and she's not a part of Team In Training or another fund-raising group. I'm hoping I get in. I really, really, really want to go so that I can meet up with my running blog family/friends -- well, provided they get in as well. One of my coworkers even signed up. I guess there's 20,000 spots available and about 30,000 entrants. Yes, I'm getting a little anxious... For real.
I've decided not to attend tomorrow's 14 mile run with the track club. My left quad muscle is still sore. Sure, I could chance running on it, but I'd also like to remain without injury. Sore muscles happen all the time in marathon training, and that's kind of obvious, but a soreness that doesn't go away in a few days needs rest. Instead 0f being hard-headed and ignoring the quad, I'm going to actually listen to the advice I have given to others and REST. This doesn't get my husband off the hook. You know I'm going to set the alarm so he can be up and ready to run tomorrow morning without me. He needs the miles!

I hope we both get in! I'll be sure to let you know if I hear anything, one way or another.
I'm waiting to hear too. I want to do this one so badly.... I sure hope we all get in :)
Rest up and take care. Good for you for passing up the 14 miler.
Fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!
^^^^^^^ that was me.
I was wrong on my guess for the song title....read it too fast. It was not Sheryl Crow.
Leslie,
I've checked my credit card and my Active.com account. It's not looking too good for me, but there's still hope. Those who have already found out had the info show up on their credit card statement on line or their Active.com account. I keep checking. I have until Monday. I hope one of us gets in!!! If I don't get in I'll most likely run the San Jose Rock 'n' Roll Half, which is two weeks before the Nike event.
Flo,
I hope you get in, too! Even though it was crowded and I knew I wasn't going to PR, it was a blast and the vibe through the whole event was great. I'll be sad if I don't get in but I'll try again next year.
Katie,
Thanks. I am glad I decided NOT to run today. There were a few injuries today, according to my husband.
irene, i haven't gotten my "official" email about the nike yet... only the entry fee removed from my bank account. there's still hope for you to get in!
