American Pie
This isn't the pie I made for my dad, but an extra one I made out of an excess in apples. The recipe called for 10 Granny Smith apples, but the apples I bought were double the size of the regular ones, so we had enough for another pie. The pie I made for my dad was much prettier than this one and much fuller. This one wasn't as full, so when my son cut into it the crust collapsed. I can't crimp a crust with my fingers to save my life, so I use small cookie cutters and place left-over dough around the edges.
A big congratulations to my friends Chuck and Sylvia for running in their second Arizona Rock 'N' Roll Half Marathon! Sylvia PRed by something like 15 minutes! Also, a big congratulations to blogger buddy Pat, who ran in the Arizona Rock 'N' Roll Marathon, his first marathon. There was never a doubt that Pat would finish and have a phenominal finish time. He just keeps going and going and going...

Don Mclean, I think. (I used to LOVE that song when I was like 12 or 13.)
Too bad, but yet then good for me, I can't see the picture of the pie here at work. I'm sure it was DELICIOUS.
