Guess where I went today? Yep. Federal Court for jury duty. I sat around and waited for a long time and was glad I brought a book. I did go through the juror selection process, which took a few hours. I was not selected. Hooray! (Oops, I mean, darn!) I have to call back later today for further, prerecorded instructions. I'm on call the whole month of November. Yesterday I had planned out my workout for this morning, but I received the prerecorded info that I had to be at the court before 7:30 AM. The workout never happened. I did fit in about a half hour of walking around downtown at my lunch break, so I suppose that counts for something.
Happy Wednesday.
Peace

I've been so lucky so far too. Working the overnights, I'm wondering if they'd let me take off? Walking DOES count!
jack johnson.
isn't that the worst part... the sitting doing nothing?
up here they won't even let you bring a book or anything else to do while you are waiting. that sucks.
Count me as another lucky one as far as jury duties are concerned. I've received summons multiple times but never had to go in. Here's hoping my luck holds up! The court building in my area is in a really questionable neighborhood which I am hesitant to venture in.
A big congratulations on your last half marathon! Woohoo!!! 5 minutes PR! You go girl! Are you going to shoot for under 2:10 next time? That's my goal when my latest injury heals up.
Evelyne,
I don't know how they figure out who they want as a juror. I'm glad I wasn't picked and I hope I'm not called back the rest of this month.
Barbie,
The Federal Court is right next to a shopping mall, and during the lunch hours there's a lot of people running and walking.
Chantal,
Thanks. It feels good. Of course I always want to be faster! 2:10 would be the next logical choice for a time goal! :) I hope your injury heals up soon!
PS
Barbie - You nailed the song! Winner!
