Proud

Today a patient came in to pick up her new prescription eyewear. She was just beaming, not because of her clearer vision and stylish frames, but because her son will be running in the Boston Marathon on April 21, 2008. He qualified last year at the San Diego Rock 'N' Roll Marathon in just a little over 3 hours. It was great because she didn't know that I run and I was thrilled to listen to her gush about her son well before I mentioned that I run. I loved listening to her talk about her son and what he had gone through in his life prior to running. I really can't say much more than that, but the story truly is inspirational. He's hoping to finish UNDER 3 hours. Wow.

In case I forget, best wishes to all those who worked so hard to make it to the Boston Marathon this year!!!

It is fun to hear proud parents talk about their runners. Glad you were able to let that lady brag a bit!
