HAVE
DOMS
*ouch*
My usual PT is back from vacation and was feeling extra generous on Monday. He gave me three sets of my workout instead of the usual two, plus he upped some of the weights. Even the PT assistant was surprised with the extra set. I pounded it out, but I was quite drenched and quite exhausted when I was done.
Today's run looked like this:
Activity: Run
Date: 07/14/09 10:07 AM
Distance: 2.18 miles
Time: 0:25:42
Speed: 5.1 mph
Pace: 11' 47 min/mile
Calories: 212
Let's call this a recovery run, shall we?
Instead of going to the gym for HIIT*, I did a recovery run in the neighborhood instead. I really wanted to go out longer because my mind needs it, but since I'm so sore I just took it really easy. No powering up those hills. There was no need to. I couldn't have powered up those hills if I tried.
For those of you who asked, this is a part of Tidelands Park, Cornado, CA. This is where the track club sometimes meets for long runs. Take notice of the sidewalk on the lower right side of the photo. I didn't have any good pictures of my own of Tidelands Park. I found this one doing a google search, but if you really want to, you can check here for more information and pictures about Coronado.
Here's me running on that sidewalk I mentioned. It was the 5k on the 4th of July, 2009...

Ouch! That sounds like a tough and painful workout! Great job on getting that done. Love your running route.
I haven't seen you run in almost a month...but you're right, you do look much more straight than you used to. That's a great picture!
Wow, that PT is really kickin' your booty, huh? I LOVE DOMS when I have them. Makes me know I'm working hard and making changes. That pic is beautiful! (The one of YOU ofcourse!)
What a gorgeous place to run. And you look pretty good too. ;-)
Yeah, but it's a "good soreness" - isn't it? You look fast in that photo, by the way.
good sore! and great photo!
Great action shot! Most of mine always have my mouth gaping wide gasping for air.
And the DOMS - you and I both. But mine was just from running a few miles. Nothing as strenous as weights and excercise. Motrin does wonders.
I'm wondering if there is an equivalent of the San Diego Track Club up here in Sacramento.
Great pic! DOMS sucks, but a great reminder of a job well done! :)
That's a great picture of you! And Coronado looks like a really nice place to run.
DOMS?
Great photo and awesome scenery.
Wonderful shots! and nice angles there! Just sweat it all out! Keep on singing your song of running. Goodluck on your future endeavors. : )
No matter who's park that is in the photo, anything anywhere close to as scenic as that would do me just fine.
Keep on HIITing it!
IRFF,
It really is a pretty route! It's one of my favs, for sure!
AKA Alice,
I hope so because they're really kicking my ass at RU. All that rehab and now training is really getting things in gear.
Evelyne,
I guess that's why you appreciate Tony so much. I'm working hard but I'm liking what's beginning to happen. I hope the physique is soon to follow.
Rachel,
It is lovely. Thanks. :)
Anne,
That's the good things about DOMS, kind of a little reminder of how hard of a workout it was, but that's good.
Lisa,
Yes! A good kind of sore!
Glenn,
You gotta practice for the photogs!
Look like you're having fun! Motrin IS great for after, but I can't handle it. My lips puff up like someone hit me.
Katie,
I sent you a link.
Mel,
Absolutely! I was moving slow for a day, but it wasn't so bad today.
Cami,
It really is a nice place to run.
Jo Lynn,
Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. :)
Waddler26.2,
It's always a pretty morning run there.
Runnerinsight,
Thanks so much!
Nitmos,
Well, if you ever make it to San Diego, Coronado is a must visit on the itinerary.
