The Best Is Yet To Come

Activity: Run
Date: 07/02/09 12:14 PM
Distance: 5.58 miles
Time: 1:03:56
Speed: 5.2 mph
Pace: 11' 27 min/mile
Calories: 533

Today's run was at the bay. It was supposed to be a tempo run but I felt off from the start, mostly my stomach. Basically I was supposed to start out slow to warm up, then run just a little bit beyond what is comfortable in the middle, then a slow recovery run at the end. My splits are all around a 11:30 m/m, the best split was 11:12, at mile 2. I ran marathon pace for the entire 5.58 miles. *sigh* I just could not get going any better than that. What it should look like is 11:00 m/m at the start, about a 9:50 m/m or better in the middle, and about an 11:00 m/m at end. 'Tis better to get in a crap run than no run at all.

Yesterday's song:
Lucky Number - Lene Lovich

PEACE

Sorry it was a blah run. But be proud that you stuck with it.

I'd blame the heat...or the humidity...yeah, I like blaming those two things :-)

What I say is "any run is better than no run."

Sound like most of my runs these days. Why do we do it? (Oh yeah - that insanity thing).

like you said... a slow run is better than no run. And,in the end, you still burned 500+ calories.

Get the yucky runs out of the way now - it'll be that much better on race day :)
