A Little Fall Of Rain

Today was the funeral for my brother-in-law's mother. My brother-in-law, his four siblings and their families are quiet heartbroken, but the funeral was more of a celebration of life. It was a wonderful tribute to see so many people at the service. Mrs. Johnson was a very happy, spiritited lady. Her home was quite decked out with her antique Christmas ornament collections that she took great pride in displaying. She was working on a family tree project and spent hours on the computer researching geneology. She had travel plans. I didn't realize that she was as old as she was due to the fact that she was so active. She was not outwardly ill. She was 82 years old. She died peacefully on December 29th, while sleeping in her recliner. Rest in peace, Kate.

I'm sorry for your loss. How nice that she was active up until the day she went peacefully in her sleep. I hope when it's my time to go that's how I go. My prayers are with you and your family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My prayers goes to you and your family. In retrospect, I think that's how I would want to go. Still active to the very end and meeting my maker peacefully in my sleep.

Love that song. I think I even know the lyrics in my head. Definitely Les Mis.

Sorry to hear.. Your BIL & family will be in my thoughts..
She sounds like a wonderful lady who deserved to go as gently as she did.. *sigh* that we were all that blessed.

Wow, what a great story about a great lady. That's how I want to be remembered...as someone with a lot of spirit who was active and happy until the last moment.

That is a great tribute, wonderfully written. May she rest in peace and may comfort come to her children.

Barbie2be,
Thanks. She was a wonderful lady. Yes, Les Mis... I had to pick a song from that play because we all went to see it with Mrs. Johnson BTW, Winner!

Evelyne,
Thank you. She was a fun person. I think it's fortunate that she went so peacfully, sad for her kids and grandkids, though.

Chantal,
Thank you to you, too. I guess if I were to pick, that's how I would want to go, as well. I love that song. It rained yesterday, the day of the service, so I thought it was fitting... I'll give you a "winner," too. ;) "and rain will make the flowers grow."

Pamela,
Her kids shared some fun stories after the service. My niece made a poster board with photos of Mrs. Johnson throughout the years. Man, oh man, she was quite a hottie in her day! She will be missed. Thanks.

Eileen,
Mrs. Johnson really set the bar high for living life to the fullest.

Katie,
I'm sure the great memeories of their mom will help. Thanks.
