I did much better with yesterday's run than I did just two weeks ago. Having enough water was the key. I carried my Platypus hydration pack with more than enough water, had 5 gels (needed only 3), and the weather was mild. Cell phone calls at the last 5 miles slowed me down a smidge, but I don't think it hindered anything other that adding a minute or two to the entire run. If I run the way I ran yesterday, I can expect to finish the marathon in around 5:02 or so. I know my training runs are always slower than my actual runs, and I'm hoping that the excitement of marathon day will give me the mental boost I need to pick up the speed even just a little bit.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Peace

Wow, 20 miles in 3 hrs and 51 min, amazing! I can't even run for 1 mile. You're gonna do great in that marathon.

Happy Belated Mother's Day!

I still get so impressed by you Irene, and I'm still jealous too, ha ha, just because I'm still not running. I tried about 2 weeks ago, did a whole 1/2 mile and could still feel the pain in my leg, so I didn't continue.

Hi Irene! To answer your question about the running skirt, the fit is great! I heard they're especially comfortable in the summer time because of the spankies. They have a sizing guide in their website (runningskirt.com). And it's my shirt that's backwards, not the skirt. =)

Waddler26.2,
I felt pretty good about that run. Thanks, and I did have a nice Mother's Day.

Evelyne,
Thanks so much. I really appreciate your support!

Smartypantz32,
At the end of a 20 mile run I don't want to talk on the phone, and It kept ringing... *Grumble* I need to figure out how to shut off the ringer but still hear the mile marker beeps... Keep guessing on the song. :)

Chantal,
Thanks for the encouragement. My goal is 5 hours or less. I'd be absolutely besides myself if I did a 4 hour marathon, plus that would qualify me for Boston. I'd have to shave off an hour of my running time. Oh well. A girl can dream, but you never know. ;) BTW dang - my age is showing! I should wear my reading glasses to read blogs! Shirts/skirts... big difference. LOL... Thanks for the skirt info.

Pamela,
Thanks. I did have a nice Mother's Day.

NSM,
Yoga is good. Movement is good. ;) Thanks.

Katie,
Thanks!

Dori,
Thanks!

Steven,
Long time no see! Glad to see you back here and posting again on your blog. Thanks!

Donna,
Thank you! Ow. Pain and running usually don't mix. I hope it gets to feeling better!
