Good Times

Activity: Run
Date: 05/22/07 08:23 AM
Distance: 2.59 miles
Time: 0:26:30
Speed: 5.87 mph
Pace: 10' 13 min/mile
Calories: 244

Note to self: Run an hour earlier or later than today's time. There was too much car traffic to stop or yield to, due to children being dropped off at the elementary schools.

I made myself panic unecessarily. I thought there was only one week left until the marathon. We haven't even figured out how we're going to get out of our neighborhood to get to the start. We now live a couple of blocks between miles 15 and 16 of the marathon route. There's actually 2 weeks left. It's on June 3rd. Whew...

Non workout/running stuff:

My dog was sprayed by a skunk last night. I had managed to get in bed relatively early last night, which is rare. I hear barking, then silence. A few minutes later came the smell... Forget about falling asleep early. UGH! I wouldn't let my poor, smelly dog in the house at all ~ She slept in the patio. I had to be out of the house before the stores opened this morning so I gave my son the task of going to Petco for some sort of special shampoo and taking care of the situation. When I came home the dog was bathed. She does smell better... She can be back in the house, but there's a little bit of an after scent that isn't gone yet... Good times.

Peace

Pamela,
I feel bad for the dog. She gets another bath with different stuff today! Keep guessing - Think early '90's...

NSM,
He'll grow up too fast...

Early 90s? Counting Crows?

Your skunk story brings back memories of when my dog did that. Oh, my mom was so pissed!!! But she's one of those who needs to "do it all", so we couldn't even help her with it, not that we wanted to anyway. Fortunately we had tomato juice on hand because it was the middle of the night like yours.

Oops... The song is disco.... Late 1970's, early 1980's... Keep guessing...

Katie,
I thought about the tomato juice but most sites said it takes a lot of it, and soaking in it for a long time to make it really work. I did hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish soap and it actually worked!

Thanks for your congratulatory comments. I was thinking the marathon was this Sunday, also. My sister just did her 22 mile walk and finished in 5:14. I told her she walks faster than I run! Hopefully, not for long.

We'll have to arrange to meet at Nike in October. Good luck on Sunday, June 3!

Le Chic! That song brings back high school memories of bad suits and white afros!

I run by this big home and at least one morning each week, it reeks of skunk. There must be a family of them in thier hedges. I can't imagine living there. Running by is bad enough.

Dori,
Your sister walks fast! I'm guessing she might be doing some running along the way :)... Good for her, though! I'm sure you'll be passing her up soon, very soon! I'd love to meet at the Nike event. We'll have to figure something out.

Anne,
The funny thing is that those suits and afros are so retro now... Winner! UGH on the skunk smell. Is there anything worse???
