Lost and Found

I took Lucy for a test run today, a two miler. It took me a while to remember where all the applications were, such as turning on the GPS, hitting start and locking the bezel. She's pretty sweet and I don't need reading glasses to read her face. I didn't think about using the heart rate monitor, which is supposed to give me a more accurate caloric burn number, but I'll try it next time.

I was walking back to my car and found a Garmin just laying there in the middle of the parking lot. No one was around or even looking for it, so I brought it home. I sent an e-mail to Garmin with the serial number, so that the rightful owner MIGHT be found. I only hope the owner of this Garmin registered their serial number. I know I would want to be contacted if someone found my Garmin. Unless you're swimming in money, they aren't cheap. I thought about posting A "FOUND GARMIN" sign out at the park with a temporary e-mail address for contact info, but I'm going to wait to hear back from Garmin first before I post any signs. I don't want to risk being contacted by a bunch of weirdos wanting a freebie. I'm not posting pictures of it or saying which kind of Garmin it is, since it can be identified by the serial number. I will say that I found it out at Mission Bay Park.

You could post a found on Craigslist. It's free. It also masks your email.

glad you got to run with Lucy! Great idea to contact Garmin, hope it gets reunited with it's owner -- I'd want someone like you around if I ever lost mine! :)

Hey, I think I lost a garmin there. It's a dark red and silver/grey and says garmin on it. Yeah, it must be mine. just kiddin'

You might be able to download the workouts and check the map for the start location. Good chance, that's where they live.

But, if it's mine don't laugh at the slow pace.

oh and I was just thinking, you should post a craigslist ad as "found watch"...like you have no idea what it is. That way the true owner can identify it as a Garmin, and those looking for a freebie might just describe any old watch...

Oh, wow! Bummer for the person who lost it! Smart thinking to contact Garmin. I hope the owner registered it. :p If I ever lose my Garmin, I hope you're nearby to find it. Oh, that's right... I don't have a Garmin. hee hee (Christmas is coming, tho!)

I'm glad you and Lucy had a good time together! She sounds like a great running partner. And smart!

I hope the Garmin and its owner are reunited soon. Very good of you to play matchmaker. And I used to share our iTunes library with my daughters. There was a song called Lost and Found in there by Taking Back Sunday (I think).

OMG... that person is probably really bummed. I wouldn't even think to contact Garmin if I lost mine. Craigslist might be a better bet or I like the idea of a sign at the park.

You are a nice person to go to trouble to get it back to its owner.
