Fax Me A Beer

My job is finished, for now. I go back in next week for training on some new equipment, but that's just to keep me up to speed when I do go back in again. This time back at work was a little more complicated than the last time. There was so much back work that needed to be finished. I'm glad I was able to pitch in and help everyone play "catch-up."

One of my coworkers brought in a little "gift" for me. In case you didn't know already, my name at work (and e-mail, on line, etc...) is "Eyeballrene," "Eyeball" for short. I do believe I've explained that everyone in the office has nick-names. I don't know how it got started, but we all have crazy nick names. Even our patients know our nick names and some of them were bestowed nick names... Yes, it's a unique work place. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketOne of my coworkers came up with mine. Irene = Eye (ball) rene... Any way... Another coworker "GG" or "Ghoulie Girl" brought a bottle of beer called "Lagunitas - The Hairy Eyeball Ale." Teehee... My name's all over it. I haven't opened the bottle, yet, it has to get nice and cold first, then maybe on a free meal, I'll pop that bottle open. I sure hope it's good.

I have a date with the road tomorrow morning. It's supposed to get warm out (90 degrees) tomorrow, so I'm thinking I'll get out early, while it's still cool, and do my 2.5 miler around the neighborhood, hills and all. I've noticed I do better on my LSD runs when I get my shorter runs in during the week. If I miss the shorter runs, the LSD runs seem harder than they need to be. I also need to pay closer attention to my nutrition. The past couple of weeks have been kinda carb heavy and I need to amp up the protein ratio. My weight is okay but I could stand to feel less fluffy. I'm kinda going through the transition between weight training and running again. I always get fluffy at this time. I guess getting fluffy is a given, I just need to find a balance so that I don't feel as fluffy...

Pretty cool to have your own beer label. I wondered how the "eyeball" part came about; thanks for explaining. And 90 degrees in March? I am so jealous!

Wow, it's going to be 90?!

It's nice that you work with cool people. Enjoy the brew!

I'm right with you in defluff mode.

I notice that in my late 40s (what? how?) it's like the road gets narrower, so I have a little less leeway with indulgent food and less than dedicated exercise. Do you find that to be true for you? Just curious.

Enjoy the running and again, thanks for letting me know about the 1/2 marathon drawing. Now I just need to keep my fingers crossed!

Irene, I thought you were going to say that you had a glass eye or a wandering eye (something to that effect). It is funny how nick names get started and stick with you. "Juls", my nickname from high school, is Jules spelled wrong. Back then my friends and I didn't know any better. It stuck. Thanks for stopping by my blog (Keeping Pace). Happy running!

With that title, it has to be a country song. Hank Williams, Jr.

Good Luck on the run.
Cool about the beer named after you!

I thought it was pretty funny, but I also thought it was cool that my coworker thought to bring me a bottle! That 90 degree day came and went, but now it's just about right. It feels like spring. :) I hope Spring finds its way to you!

I guess it was a fluke. 90 in March is unheard of here. Not sure when I'll pop open that beer, though. I'm sure I'll have to share it with hubbie.

Ugh. It's so ironic with all the running I still can get fluffy. But I know it's the carbs ;) and the over 40 thing, too. Oh, I so hope you get in for the half marathon!

Thanks for visiting my blog, too! It's funny how nick names evolve. Keep on running when you can. :)

Winner! I was looking for a song that had to do with office and beer... LOL. I can't link to your blog from your name link. I know I've been there before but I can't find the actual link to get there...
