It's a sope. (Not sure if that's spelled correctly.) It's sort of like an open-faced quesadilla. The one this lady made me had a hand-made blue corn tortilla, mushrooms, squash flowers and two kinds of cheese, made to order on her little wood burning cook-top/table. It was delicious! After that one, I had another!

That looks delicious. And I know that bubble gum pop song but no clue who sings it. Sounds like The Archies but that can't be right. Ah, well.

Fried squash blossoms? looks delish!
Oh, yes!!! Lovely! There is a woman with a street cart here in Echo Park, Los Angeles, who makes blue corn sopes and quesadillas like this.
Delicious!
This is quite likely the prettiest serving I've ever seen - I wonder if I'd eat it or simply stare at it all day.
Who am I kidding? I'd shnarf it down in about 32 seconds :)
This is delightful...I should try making it at home!
This is certainly an example of food as art. SO IMPRESSIVE!!
