Welcome Back

I ran 9.74 miles on Sunday. It was a "time on your feet run: for a time of 1:45. It felt good to be back at it, even though I was caught in the rain for 5 minutes around mile 7. I had Lucy set to show stopwatch time and chime/show mile laps, so I had no idea that I needed only .26 of a mile to make an even 10.

I think it's now safe to say I'm over what ever creepy crud infection I had. It feels good to feel good again.

Look!

You guys have no idea how long I've tried to get an orchid plant to produce blooms a second time. This is kind of a big deal for me. This big deal orchid bloom is actually about an an inch, maybe an inch and a half in size. Now that I've managed to get one orchid plant to grow*, perhaps it's time I get back on the gardening bandwagon and rototill the backyard. It's a jungle back there. It looks like we've abandoned the entire backyard.

Check out another running skirt giveaway over at Endurance Isn't Only Physical. Oh, and check out her cool blog, too.

PEACE

*...and have rehabbed enough to squat down and get back up again without needing help...

Glad you are over that flu. It can take a lot out of you, but it sounds like our Irene is back.

Beautiful orchid.... congrats on getting the second bloom! Awesome accomplishment, one I've yet to master! Found you from Run with Jill... your blog title caught my eye. Looking forward to checking out your posts. I lived (and was stationed in) San Diego back in the late 80s... long, long time ago! And the creeping crud seems to have made its way to Florida... ugh. My turn. *sigh...* Glad you're feeling better!

What a gorgeous orchid. Mine have never bloomed twice and I've had many over the years.

WOW! I love it. Mine has new growth on the way too. I'm just not sure if it's birthing more leaves or some flowers.

Is it the song from "Welcome Back Kotter"? I have no idea who the artist is, but do I get points for naming the show?

I think my Orchid is done. It bloomed for several years, but I think I needed to separate the bulbs or something.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I wish I could add encouraging words about the running, but as it would only enter my head if I was being chased by a bull, I will have to pass.

Actually in my younger days I did run cross-country and was pretty good, but at the mo I'm sticking to cycling, the rowing machine and precious time off skiing. ;o)

I need to talk to my mom. She raises orchids as a hobby. I know there's something she does every yar or every other year. But hey - I'm a guy. Why would I pay attention to that?
