I ran today!!! Finally!!! It was extremely windy here, still is, so it felt like I was running uphill the entire time. It took me about 59 minutes to run 5 1/4 miles, and normally (at an easy pace) it should take a little over 50 minutes, 52, 53 minutes or thereabouts. I ran at the bay, and the wind was so strong it was ripping frongs off of the Mexican palm trees... It felt good to run, even though it was a bear to run in the wind.
I also stopped by the other house today to see if I could get one last critter here. We've moved the dog and two of the cats, but my big boy grey tabby "Lumpy" (AKA Artemis) didn't want to move. He broke out of 3 cardboard carriers that would hold the "normal" kitty. He knows how to manipulate cardboard with his head... We had/have a proper small animal carrier but we either let someone else use it or it's lost in the vast vortex that is the garage, and right now I really can't spring for a new, Lumpy-proof, kitty carrier. I found a very large, cylindrical shaped basket with a lid that could fit a 5 year old. Lumpy couldn't break out of that basket, plus, it was secured with a resistance band. For such a big kitty, he sure hollered and moaned the whole 10 minutes it took me to drive down the interstate to the new house... What a baby. He's fine now, resting comfortably under my bed.
I hope the wind calms down. I keep expecting to see a cow blow by, a house, perhaps the Wicked Witch or Auntie Em...
Peace

I'll Be Home For Christmas
Happy belated Christmas!
Life has been a whirlwind of busy here. In addition to moving, Christmas, and everyday stuff, the dog had an Addisons's crash and had to go to the vet SEVERAL days in a row. Sheesh, I wish my dog was on our medical insurance plan because it sure cost a bunch in medications, IV's and vet time.... I told hubbie NOT to get me ANYTHING for Christmas because of the vet bills. The dog is doing much better now.
Most of the house is moved and there are still boxes about. Hubbie and I had a flash back to Christmas past. We were up until 2:30 am putting a tricycle together and cleaning the part of the house where the Christmas tree is so that Christmas morning wouldn't be so chaotic. Oh, the tricycle was a hit. my grandson LOVED it because it has Lightning McQueen on it from the movie "Cars."
Since the Friday before Christmas, my eating has gone by the wayside. I was doing okay until then. I'm too chicken to weigh myself right now, and TTOTM is near too. I can still fit into my skinny jeans but if I don't stop delving into the Harry & David basket someone sent us (and it's one of the big ones) the I'll be in trouble.. Tomorrow is a new day and I need to do a long run, something over 5 miles. The trick is getting out of the front door...
Peace
PS
Hubbie did get me some new running socks, and Adidas jacket and a biking top that we see a lot of runners wear -- It has a zipper pouch on the back. I love new workout clothes, oh, and my Hubbie, too.

Christmas Time
I found this meme on Notsoccermom's blog. Since I love Christmas music, this is a no-brainer, however, it was tough to just choose 5 songs. You just need to list 5 of your favorite Christmas songs and who does it. That's it.
1. Silent Night - I have yet to find a version I don't like of this song, so I'm not really listing a singer/band, however, Jewel does a version I really like.
2. Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer by Gene Autry. I loved this song as a child. Still do.
3. Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree by Gary Hoey. It's an instrumental electric guitar song that rocks and I love to dance around my house to! This song makes me wish I really knew how to REALLY play the guitar.
4. River by Joni Mitchel. I believe the intent of this song wasn't really for Christmas, but it's on my Christmas song compilation on the Ipod.
5. Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses. Perhaps a lesser known Christmas song but it reminds hubbie and I of the college years.
Too bad I have to stop at 5. I LOVE CHRISTMAS MUSIC!
Peace

Downtown
Hubbie and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary on December 11th. We traveled a whole 4 miles (or so) to Downtown and stayed at the usual place we stay, only because we can get a suite at the regular room price... It's nice having a friend who works in the hotel business... It was a nice diversion and do things we don't normally get to do, like drink and eat without any regard to healthy lifestyle. I feel fluffy now, but it was our anniversary.
Back to reality, I had my son move my weight set so I have to use it. I also signed up for that half marathon next month. I'd better get off my butt and run.
Peace
