I Wear My Sunglasses At Night

Now I have some time to get caught up! The past couple of weeks have been busy with filling in at work, packing, and every day living...

I met up with a fellow blogger! Leslie was in town and suggested that we meet for dinner. I had a wonderful visit and we could have talked for hours. It's always refreshing to meet someone with fitness goals, and understands that whole fitness lifestyle. Most of my friends and family don't really understand the fitness/running/nutrition thing. Leslie is a wonderful lady and I hope we meet up again in the not so distant future.

My stint as an employed person is over, for now. It was sort of fun and interesting being back at work. It was nice knowing that the job was temporary. I had the priviledge of having lunch with the boss, winning a "Geo Quiz" between the employees (I know my geography -- I won $10...), dressing up at the office as Herminie (from Harry Potter) for Halloween, and I didn't have to get caught up in office drama or dealing with weird patients. Part of my pay check went towards a really cool pair of Gucci sunglasses... Even though they were at cost plus employee discount, they were still pricey. I didn't buy them because they were Gucci. I bought the sunglasses because they're cool, and the brand name isn't plastered all over the frame, like with some brands. They're not as light as they appear in the photo. The photo does not do the sunglasses justice, but those are the sunglasses I bought. If they sold a similar pair of sunglasses at Target, I would have been all over those instead. The rest of my pay check is going towards moving expenses.

Hubbie and I signed up for a 5k run at Shelter Island on November 12, 2006. This is the 5k with a brunch right afterwards... You know I'm not going for a personal best, I'm going for the brunch at the end! Besides, my running the past month has been hit or miss. I did run a 10k distance run at the lake last Sunday, and that tanked... Danged asthma...

Now it's all about packing, packing, and more packing.

Peace

How fun! And a great picture too. The glasses are great. They will cover your eye area really good. That's one thing I like with the new styles out now.

Oh, Corey Hart. I saw him in the 80s. He was good, but didn't hold a candle to Mr. Springfield....the one he opened for! ;)

I love when you meet other running bloggers in person. I just had my first RBF meet-up a week ago, right before we ran the Marine Corps Marathon.

Hey there!!! Just stopped by to say hi. I haven't been over here for so long, I can't even begin to try and catch up with everyone. I'm going to try and be better and start checking in once again. Hope all is well.

Shopper,
Heya Shpprgrl! At least the larger glasses aren't remanissant of the large "mom" sun glasses my mother used to wear... Eeek! BTW, WINNER!!!!!!

Bex,
Thanks for visiting! The Shelter Island run is perfect for meeting other runners because people stay for the brunch and chat. Most 5k's people run, pick up the t-shirt and goodie bag and go.

Donna,
Glad to see you around again! I know how it is, though. Life gets busy!

Great picture! Love the glasses! Good luck with your 5K! I'm running another one on the 11th, but there's no brunch at the end. I'd be lucky to get a t-shirt.

Chantal,
The 5k on the 12th is the only one I know of with a brunch. :) It will be fun! Good luck on your 5K!

Evelyne,
I worked at that office for about 3 years before I "quit." They asked me to stay on as "on call." It works for me. It's nice to go in every once in a while. Sorry, no pics of Halloween at work... My coworkers had the cameras! The packing is going slow but is getting done. :)

Hi Pamela!
The only good thing about packing is getting rid of stuff and finding stuff that I thougth was lost! It was fun meeting Leslie. I hope we're able to meet again at some point!
